CONGRATULATIONS to our top two 4th - 8th grade students who qualified for the regional spelling bee. 6th graders Aryan A. and Callen M. will represent Crab Orchard at Marion Pavilion. We would also like to recognize the top two from each class who competed today. Taryn M, Isaiah B, Zoie Y, Carson M, Carter D, Remington C, Emersyn F, Jake H, Hunter R, Eli R, Ryder L and Hunter M. We are very proud of all of your hard work!
Reminder that this Wednesday, March 12th, is a 1:30 pm dismissal and there is no latchkey. The next 1:30 pm dismissal is Wednesday, March 26th. The only 1:30 pm dismissal in April is Wednesday, April 30th. Thank you for all you do and have a great week!

It's that time of year again...Crab Orchard Claybreakers will resume practice this Monday, March 10th, beginning at 3:30 pm. Practice will run the same as the fall with High School beginning first. Let's have a great upcoming season...Trojan Proud!

Crab Orchard CUSD #3 would like to give a shout out to our High School Student Council. They hosted a Penny Wars for St. Jude and we raised the most money out of the Little Egypt District. Also, congratulations to Josey S for getting the Dedication Award, Addlyn M for the earning the Encouragement Award and Becca H for her Community Service Award. Last Thursday, the FFA participated in the Section Parliamentary Procedure Contest. During this event, students conducted a mock meeting and were graded on their ability to propose motions and engage in debates. The team finished 1st place overall and will advance to the district contest. Trojan Proud!

Congratulations to our High School Boys Basketball team for winning their first Regional game. They will play Hardin County tonight, Wednesday, February 26th @ 7:30 pm. Per IHSA, cost of tickets for tonight's game is $7.00 for children and adults. Season tickets, passes and reserved seats are not honored during Regionals...Trojan Proud!
Due to High School Basketball Regionals, the junior high volleyball game scheduled for tonight, Monday, February 24th vs OLMC has been moved to Friday, March 7th. Also, the Akin Junior High Volleyball tournament scheduled for March 7th and 8th has been moved to this weekend, February 28th and March 1st. Crab Orchard's has the 2nd game on Friday, February 28th. It will follow the first game that begins at 5:00 pm.
A reminder that today, Monday, February 24th is the first round of High School Basketball Regionals...Crab Orchard vs Joppa at 6:00 pm. Senior night recognition will be before the game at 5:20 pm. Doors will open at 4:30 pm. The cost of admittance is $6.00 for children and adults. Season tickets, passes and reserved seats are not honored during Regionals. After Monday, the cost per night is $7.00 per person.

Valentine's Day fun in 1st Grade!

The FFA has had a busy past few weeks. On February 7th, 4 members attended the State FFA Horse Judging Event at Black Hawk East College. The team placed 18th overall, and Allana C. placed 9th individually in the entire state!
On February 11th, three members completed an interview for the State FFA Degree. This is the highest degree a member can earn at the state level. Congrats to Raven, Cayleigh, and Miky!

High school student council is hosting a Canned Food Drive February 18th - March 3rd. This canned food drive is for both the elementary and high school. Help support a good cause. CO is One Community, One School, One Family...Trojan Proud!
